Channels
Web widget, WhatsApp, and Instagram
A bot answers on one primary channel, chosen when it's created, and can have others connected as add-ons. All channels run the same flow and, if you've added one, the same AI Agent, your visitors get a consistent experience no matter where they message you.
Web widget
An embeddable chat window for your own website. No account or setup on the visitor's side, they just click and start typing.
- Customize its color, font, theme, and call-to-action text from the bot's Design settings.
- Copy the embed snippet from the bot's Overview page and paste it into your site.
- The widget talks only to your bot, it never reaches your Inbox directly; the bot relays what it needs to.
Connect a real WhatsApp Business number so the bot can send and receive real WhatsApp messages.
- Connect via WhatsApp Embedded Signup (Meta's own guided flow) or by pasting an existing access token.
- WhatsApp enforces a 24-hour customer service window: you can reply freely for 24 hours after a customer's last message, and need an approved template to reach them outside that window (for example, a broadcast to someone who hasn't messaged recently).
- Templates are pre-approved message formats you submit to Meta for approval before you can send them.
- Broadcasts let you message a group of contacts at once using an approved template.
- Drip Campaigns send a scheduled sequence of messages to contacts as they're tagged.
- Calls: with a bot's WhatsApp number, your team can place and receive real WhatsApp voice calls to a contact, subject to the contact's own calling permission.
Connect an Instagram professional account so the bot can send and receive Instagram DMs.
- Connect via Instagram's own Business Login flow.
- Instagram has the same kind of messaging window as WhatsApp (24 hours from the visitor's last message), but no template system, so there's no broadcast or bulk-send option for Instagram today. Your team can still reply to any Instagram contact who's within their own window, one at a time, from the Inbox.
Primary channel vs. add-on
- A bot's primary channel is chosen once, when it's created, and shapes its default setup (Web gets a widget and preview chrome; WhatsApp and Instagram get their own connect flow).
- WhatsApp and Instagram can also be attached to a bot as an add-on, regardless of its primary channel, so a Web-primary bot can still answer on WhatsApp too, for example.
Handoff to a person
Any channel can hand a conversation to your team mid-conversation using a Handoff card in the flow. Once handed off, the conversation shows up in the Inbox and a human agent can pick it up and reply directly, on whichever channel the visitor is using.
